- To date, 99.25 percent of the ACC members have completed the RCSC on schedule.
- 100 percent of the companies with the March 31, 2007 deadline have now completed full Security Code implementation.
- Of the ACC member required to report on the security metrics prior to 2005, 99.58 percent of Responsible Care facilities completed security vulnerability assessments, the first stage in implementing the Security Code, on time. The remaining 0.42 percent completed the process within 60 days of the deadline, and assessments of all Responsible Care facilities - more than 2,000 nationwide - are now complete.
- Companies that have joined ACC after 2005 are also required to implement the RCSC and have eighteen months to fully implement the RCSC and any security enhancements identified by their SVAs.
- Of the ACC member required to report on the security metrics prior to 2005, 94.75 percent of Responsible Care facilities completed third-party verifications of their security enhancements on time. This step of Security Code implementation requires that facilities bring in third-parties to affirm that the company has implemented the physical security enhancements that were determined necessary as a result of their security vulnerability assessments. 100 percent of Responsible Care facilities have now completed third-party verifications.
- Responsible Care companies are also required to implement physical security enhancements revealed by their vulnerability assessments. These additional security safeguards were put in place at Responsible Care companies, and then independently verified by third parties.
- For each reporting year, we require that all companies who have already implemented the RCSC to re-pledge their ongoing commitment to the Security Code by signing a Security Code Reaffirmation statement which states that companies continue to maintain their Responsible Care Security Code implementation for facility, value chain, and cyber security interests, at all company chemical operations.
- Since September 11, 2001, Responsible Care companies have invested more than $6 billion to enhance security at their facilities.
